Wantagh Mazda Supported Roll Across Long Island Fundraiser
Here at Wantagh Mazda, we love calling Long Island our home. Another Long Island native, Gabriel Cordell, also loves this place.
Earlier this month, Gabriel spent four days travelling 122 miles across the island. He wasn’t sight-seeing; he was using only his arm muscles to push himself in a wheelchair all the way from Montauk Lighthouse to Animal League America in Port Washington.
His Roll Across Long Island mission was to raise money and awareness for the North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Specifically, the funds raised by this project will go toward building a new feline adoption center that will help save countless cats and kittens. You can still donate to the cause HERE!
“I’m a Long Island boy through and through,” Gabriel says, in a statement. “It doesn’t matter where I live or where I am in the world, Long Island will always be home. I want to do something to give back to one of its most well respected organizations. North Shore Animal League America means so much to so many people and pets everywhere.”
When we heard about Gabriel’s mission, we wanted to help, so we donated a Mazda CX-5 to be used as a support vehicle for the trip.
If you’re looking to add a new furry friend to your family, head to North Shore Animal League America to adopt an animal in need of a forever home.
