We don’t know about you, but for us, music is one of the few things that makes running not absolutely terrible. Listening to one of your favorite upbeat songs while pounding the pavement can make the miles pass just a little faster. That’s why we’re so happy that Mazda North American Operations has recently announced that they have been named the Official Automotive Partner of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.
“Mazda is a brand built on passion,” said Russell Wager, Mazda’s vice president of marketing. “Expanding our relationship with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series allows us to meet customers within their existing passion-points of music and running, all to build a natural affinity between their interests and our vehicles.”
The Marathon Series combines running and entertainment, and will provide performances by live bands at every mile along the running course, as well as cheerleaders encouraging runners throughout the race. There will always be a post-race headliner concert.
Now the remaining Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon Series events in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Denver, San Antonio, and Las Vegas, among other cities, will also see a more significant presence of the Mazda brand at the events. Mazda will have activities at each event for the marathon participants, including ride-and-drive opportunities and pre-race activities.
