Mazda Foundation Accepting Applications

The Mazda Foundation, founded in 1992, is open for applications in just a few months and as always, it’s better to be over prepared than under. Since its conception, the Mazda Foundation has given away over $100,000 every year. Donations peaked in 2011 when the foundation gave over $500,000 in grants. In all, nearly $8 million has gone to good causes and yours could be next!

Grant applications are open via mail or email starting May 1st. The deadline is July 1st, no exceptions. If your nonprofit program or organization seeks to improve the community in which you live, double check the guidelines to be sure you meet the criteria. Promoting education and literacy, environmental conservation, social welfare, scientific research, and cross-cultural understanding is a plus. The application is straight forward and simple to fill out.

Wantagh Mazda Wins 2015 DealerRater Mazda Dealer of the Year in New YorkWe are proud to announce that Wantagh Mazda has been named the 2015 Mazda Dealer of the Year in all of New York by DealerRater.

Every year, DealerRater, the car dealer review site for consumers, examines customer feedback submitted to its website (www.dealerrater.com) to determine which dealerships for which vehicle manufacturers are the absolute best in their respective states. With 538 lifetime reviews, and an impressive 100% overall recommendation rating, Wantagh Mazda earns the title for New York for the second time since 2013.

“We are extremely excited to reclaim the title of Mazda Dealer of the Year for New York,” says Vin Vergara, General Manager, Wantagh Mazda. “Earning this award tells us that we are achieving our foremost goal: serving the Long Island communities with high-quality, knowledgeable and friendly customer service along with great products.”

Wantagh Mazda Wins Inaugural DealerRater Consumer Satisfaction Award
Award recognizes top auto dealers in United States that demonstrate excellent customer service

We have also been awarded a 2015 DealerRater Consumer Satisfaction Award, another recognition auto dealerships can earn by delivering outstanding customer service as rated by online consumer reviews. DealerRater created the Consumer Satisfaction Awards to enable online car shoppers to instantly spot car dealerships that provide high-quality customer service.

Consumer Satisfaction Awards will be given annually to the top 10 percent of U.S. new-car dealers based on their PowerScore, as well as all U.S. used-car and Canadian (new and used) car dealerships that meet DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year criteria—receiving at least 25 annual reviews and maintaining an average PowerScore rating of 4.0 out of 5.0.

For over 40 years Wantagh Mazda has been serving Long Island as a family-owned dealership showcasing a “no-pressure” sales philosophy and a “Fun, No-hassle buying experience” for all their customers. Putting family first, Wantagh Mazda continues to be closed on Sundays and major holidays allowing their employees to spend the time with their families. This commitment to family values and integrity has kept them as a top-volume, highly rated dealer over the years as many other dealers have come and go.

“We’d like to congratulate Wantagh Mazda and all of our Consumer Satisfaction Award winners,” said DealerRater CEO Gary Tucker. “DealerRater is where car shoppers learn from their peers regarding which dealers offer top-notch customer service, and now they can quickly identify Wantagh Mazda as one of the best on Long Island and in New York.”

An accessorized new MX-5 concept vehicle is headlining the Mazda brand’s Chicago Auto Show display this year—a preview of all the customizable options that will be available on the 2016 Mazda MX-5. The MX-5 rolled onto the stage in Chicago for the very first time in 1989, so it seems a fitting place to return all these years later. We’ll see the new MX-5 in our inventory before the end of the year, so we’re excited to get this first glimpse at all the options available to our customers.

Mazda revealed a teaser image before the show started, which showed a bit of the car’s new backend. Mazda is also looking to get visitors involved very actively at the show this year—they’ve planned tons of activities to support both the 2016 MX-5 Accessories Design Concept and the new Heritage Collection apparel lineups as well. You can get free autographs from MLB players, ride and drive Mazda vehicles, and more.

If you can make it out to the Chicago Auto Show, it’s worth it just to see the new Concept—and it’s even more worth it to check out all the new activities as well. You’ll get a chance to check out the new Mazda MX-5—and figure out how you want to customize it—before it even arrives here at Wantagh Mazda in the third or fourth quarter of the year. Come see us soon to learn more!

Mazda Drive for Good Event Helps Donate Over $4.9 Million to Charity

Mazda Drive For Good

Mazda believes it is important to give back to the communities that give so much to them, so the Japanese carmaker is donating over $4.9 million to select charities thanks to its Mazda Drive for Good event. Along with this large donation, Mazda employees and dealers are also contributing over 66,000 charitable service hours in 2015, which shows an increase of 17.5 percent in volunteer hours compared to 2014.

“We could not have asked for better results from this year’s Mazda Drive for Good event,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO. “The growth seen in monetary donations and volunteer service hours are a welcomed increase. It allows Mazda’s employees, dealers and business partners to lend a helping hand and participate in constructive and engaging ways, helping their community throughout the year.”

The Mazda Drive for Good event began November 21, 2014 and ran until January 2, 2015. For every Mazda vehicle purchased, Mazda donated $150 to one of four national or 44 local charities. Customers could decide what charity to donate to depending on their preferences.

Not only is Mazda a philanthropist, but the brand also has plenty of great cars, too. Stop in to Wantagh Mazda today to see what we are talking about!
