The Mazda Foundation, founded in 1992, is open for applications in just a few months and as always, it’s better to be over prepared than under. Since its conception, the Mazda Foundation has given away over $100,000 every year. Donations peaked in 2011 when the foundation gave over $500,000 in grants. In all, nearly $8 million has gone to good causes and yours could be next!
Grant applications are open via mail or email starting May 1st. The deadline is July 1st, no exceptions. If your nonprofit program or organization seeks to improve the community in which you live, double check the guidelines to be sure you meet the criteria. Promoting education and literacy, environmental conservation, social welfare, scientific research, and cross-cultural understanding is a plus. The application is straight forward and simple to fill out.

DealerRater created the Consumer Satisfaction Awards to enable online car shoppers to instantly spot car dealerships that provide high-quality customer service.
Consumer Satisfaction Awards will be given annually to the top 10 percent of U.S. new-car dealers based on their PowerScore, as well as all U.S. used-car and Canadian (new and used) car dealerships that meet DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year criteria—receiving at least 25 annual reviews and maintaining an average PowerScore rating of 4.0 out of 5.0.

An accessorized new MX-5 concept vehicle is headlining the Mazda brand’s Chicago Auto Show display this year—a preview of all the customizable options that will be available on the 2016 Mazda MX-5. The MX-5 rolled onto the stage in Chicago for the very first time in 1989, so it seems a fitting place to return all these years later. Mazda believes it is important to give back to the communities that give so much to them, so the Japanese carmaker is donating over $4.9 million to select charities thanks to its Mazda Drive for Good event. Along with this large donation, Mazda employees and dealers are also contributing over 66,000 charitable service hours in 2015, which shows an increase of 17.5 percent in volunteer hours compared to 2014.
“We could not have asked for better results from this year’s Mazda Drive for Good event,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO. “The growth seen in monetary donations and volunteer service hours are a welcomed increase. It allows Mazda’s employees, dealers and business partners to lend a helping hand and participate in constructive and engaging ways, helping their community throughout the year.”
The Mazda Drive for Good event began November 21, 2014 and ran until January 2, 2015. For every Mazda vehicle purchased, Mazda donated $150 to one of four national or 44 local charities. Customers could decide what charity to donate to depending on their preferences.
