“When it launched two years ago as a ‘14 model, we said the all-new Mazda6 was arguably the best-looking midsize sedan on the planet, inside and out,” said Tom Murphy, executive editor, WardsAuto World magazine, Mazda Press Release. “Today, that statement remains true as a refreshed Mazda6 arrives with interior upgrades that put this sedan farther ahead of its rivals. The center console and instrument panel have been expertly redesigned to incorporate a new display screen and human-machine interface that works wonderfully. Overall, the new Mazda6 interior looks and feels state-of-the-art.”

Sitting in the Mazda6, you will immediately be able to enjoy the comfortable seats. You will also notice the driver-centric design. Inside the Mazda6 Sport models, drivers and passengers will enjoy the Mazda Connect suite of infotainment features, including Bluetooth, Pandora radio, SiriusXM radio, navigation, and a Bose sound system. On the Grand Touring model, there is even an available heads-up display.

The Story Of Mazda’s Rotary Engine Is a Defining One

In the 1960s, a lot of automakers toyed with the idea of using a rotary engine. Mazda was the only automaker with the chutzpah to pursue it. They found the charms of a rotary engine, a “simple structure,” “light weight and compact size,” and “high power,” too alluring.

Mazda’s rotary engineGetting a rotary-powered vehicle to the market wasn’t without its difficulties. The first hurdle for Mazda’s team of talented engineers came in the form of “chatter marks.” These marks occurred only after hours of engine operation, and they were caused by the shape of the rotor and its housing, leaving marks on the chrome plating.

The team achieved a breakthrough in 1963, after facing “skepticism in academic and industrial circles” that it was even possible to address the chatter marks and after even doubts arose within the company.  A new seal prevented the damage of chatter marks. Mazda’s rotary engine was born.

In 1967, the Cosmo Sport had arrived, “world’s first mass production car powered by a two-rotor rotary engine.” Mazda’s rotary engine story is a defining one. It proves what kind of automaker Mazda really is: bold and adventurous.  Just like Wantagh Mazda!
