The 2019 Mazda6 recently earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS rates various vehicles in the industry based on six facets of crashworthiness, from front crash prevention to headlight visibility. The Mazda6 safety features give it great scores, due in part to the innovative design and the high-tech features offered on the 2019 model year.
According to The News Wheel, vehicles must earn “Good” in four of the six categories to become and IIHS Top Safety Pick. The Mazda6 earned “Good” and “Superior” scores in a variety of situations, the strongest of which was front crash prevention. Using driver assist technology, the Mazda6 can slow your vehicle in the event of an imminent crash to reduce damage.
The 2019 Mazda6 safety features include curve-adaptive LED projector headlights to change direction slightly based on where you’re steering. Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go technology uses cameras and sensors to maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle up ahead. This tool makes long-distance drives a bit easier, so you can relax more behind the wheel. There’s also an optional 360-degree view monitor to expand your range of vision when navigating the car into tight parking spaces.
