Sometimes, your heart yearns for a Mazda MX-5 Miata, but your head tells you that you need something that can actually carry your family and their gear. But, with the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-3, you please both your heart and your head.
Slash Gear recently test drove the 2016 CX-3 and said it is a crossover that offers you convenience and space without sacrificing fun and, when equipped with the i-ACTIV AWD system, almost feels like you’re driving an MX-5.
Right from first glance, you can tell the CX-3 is something different. It doesn’t look like a crossover version of the compact Mazda2, nor does it appear to be a mini CX-5. It has distinct and attractive styling that perfectly fits its dimensions.
Powering the CX-3 will be a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G engine rated at 146 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can expect to get 35 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg in the city for the front-wheel drive version of the CX-3. This impressive fuel efficiency doesn’t even require a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and instead uses a SkyActiv-Drive six speed automatic.
Want to see if the 2016 Mazda CX-3 can live up to your expectations? Come take it out for a test drive today at Wantagh Mazda.
