The future is looking exceptionally bright at Mazda. Recently, Mazda announced that it will add several new vehicles to the lineup in the years ahead, including the Mazda CX-50 being revealed in November. But with Halloween so close and conjuring up visions of creatures returning from the grave, it got us thinking: What if Mazda brought back some beloved classics.
Just in time for the spookiest month of the year, we present a short list of vehicles we think Mazda should bring back from the grave.
Mazdaspeed 3: We’re coming up on 10 years since the last time Mazda made a Mazdaspeed 3, and we think it’s high time that it dust off the cobwebs for a comeback. The Mazdaspeed 3 has quite the reputation for good reason — it was a powerful, fun-to-drive, and assertive hatchback with loads of personality.
Mazda RX-8: Mazda is finally bringing back the iconic rotary engine as a range extender for the upcoming Mazda MX-30 PHEV. The Wankel rotary was a staple of the Mazda lineup up through 2012 with the end of production on the Mazda RX-8. Mazda had to pull the plug on this beloved sports car due to emissions standards, so it would be quite fitting to bring it back as a sporty, powerful plug-in hybrid.
Mazda B Series: It’s been long enough since Mazda offered a pickup truck in the United States that many may not even know that was the case. But with trucks leaning more and more into luxury, technology, and efficiency, the time seems ripe for Mazda to consider a revival.
If you’re looking to see what Mazda is offering in the present, be sure to visit Wantagh Mazda in Wantagh, New York. And have a happy and safe Halloween!
Mazda is making the move to electrify its lineup, and it all starts with the upcoming Mazda MX-30. The Mazda MX-30 battery-electric vehicle will launch in the fall of this year in California before rolling out more widely next year, and it will be joined by a plug-in hybrid that brings an iconic piece of Mazda history into the world of tomorrow.
According to President of Mazda North American Operations Jeff Guyton, the upcoming Mazda MX-30 will be the first phase of its adaptation to a changing world. Among the electrified models that will follow are “a series plug-in hybrid with a rotary generator for the Mazda MX-30, a plug-in hybrid for our new large platform, and a traditional hybrid for our new American-made crossover.”
It’s been confirmed that the Mazda MX-30 plug-in hybrid EV will release sometime next year, and it will likely be one of the next new vehicles to appear in the showroom at Wantagh Mazda in Wantagh, New York. By using a rotary generator to charge the battery, Mazda recalls the classic Wankel engine that powered driver favorites like the Mazda RX-7 and Mazda RX-8.
“The rotary generator will mark the return of our unique rotary powertrain,” Guyton said. “This technology is being engineered for nearly silent operation and will replenish the battery rather than drive the wheels. As a result, the Mazda MX-30 will always drive like the engaging EV that it is, but with freedom to charge from the wall or on the go.”
If you’re interested in going green, stay tuned. It sounds like Mazda has a lot of big plans on the horizon, and you’ll find the results right here at Wantagh Mazda in Wantagh, New York.
If you’ve chosen a Mazda, it’s clear that you value stylish good looks and upscale amenities. The Mazda CX-5 is a perfect example of this — with luxury features like heated seats, leather upholstery, and a 10.25-inch full-color touch-screen display. But if you want to keep those refined features in peak condition, you’ll have to take care of your vehicle. Here are some tips to help you maintain your car and safeguard your investment.
Regular maintenance is key to helping your vehicle retain value. When you bring your car in for a checkup at Wantagh Mazda, we’ll perform a Mazda Full Circle Inspection. We’ll make sure every aspect of your vehicle is in peak condition, from its mechanical components to its fluids, lights, and climate control systems.
Dust can dull the luster of your vehicle’s interior. Keep that driver-centric cockpit in pristine condition by vacuuming twice per week, paying special attention to the cloth and carpeted surfaces. Use an appropriate brush-like attachment to avoid damaging your car’s seats. If you have leather seats in your Mazda, maintain them with a microfiber cloth and a specialized leather cleaner. Condition them afterward to keep them soft and supple.
Mazda vehicles are famed for their “KODO: Soul of Motion” design philosophy, which uses sculpted curves to make light and shadow dance across the car’s exterior. Showcase this stunning design by regularly washing and waxing the exterior of your Mazda.
Regular vehicle maintenance is actually smart money management — it’s better to get regular service, so you can catch a small issue before it becomes a full-blown problem. If you’d like the best care for your Mazda, bring it to our service center at Wantagh Mazda in Wantagh, New York.

Your first time buying a car can often be stressful and overwhelming, especially if you don’t know what to expect. As such, when checking out a dealership’s inventory, be sure to keep these car shopping strategies in mind to have a smooth and easy experience.
Know what you need
If you begin the car shopping process before figuring out your wants and needs, you’ll end up wasting lots of time trying to decide between a wide variety of models. To narrow down your search, write down your must-have features and know what you’ll be using your car for ahead of time.
Find out your credit score
The better your credit score is, the better your interest rate will be on your car loan. For that reason, it’s important to check your credit score before car shopping so you know what kind of rate to expect and can budget accordingly.
Test-drive different models
Once you have narrowed down your search to just a few models, take them out for a spin. Test drives make it easy to compare cars and see how each one performs, so it’s imperative that you take one before making a final decision.
If you’re in the market for a new car, give us a call at Wantagh Mazda. Our staff will be happy to help you find the right car for drives in and around Wantagh, New York.
Geneva’s Car Design Night is a gathering of some of the most futuristic concept cars that the automotive industry has to offer. This year was no exception, and the Mazda Vision Coupe concept car stole the show. It was named ‘Concept Car of the Year’ by a panel of judges.
The Mazda Vision Coupe concept made its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show back in October. It made another appearance at the recent 11th Car Design Night in Geneva and took home ‘Concept Car of the Year.’
“We are delighted once again to have Vision Coupe recognized with a global design award. And it’s truly an honor to have this model, which aims to express the essence of Japanese aesthetics, applauded by some of the world’s top car designers,” said Ikuo Maeda, Mazda’s Managing Executive Officer of Design and Brand Style.
Car Design News, an international car design publication, hosts Car Design Night. The publication puts together an 18-judge panel who vote on their favorite concept cars. Many of the judges work as design directors for major automakers.
The Mazda Vision Coupe winning the ‘Concept Car of the Year’ title follows another major award. The concept car took home ‘Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year’ at the Paris Motor Show not too long ago.
While many concept cars are just for show and never head to production, that isn’t the case for the Mazda Vision Coupe. Ikuo Maeda confirmed that the Vision Coupe’s design will show up in the lineup beginning in 2019.

He performed remarkably well throughout the entire Yankee season, finishing the year with 31 starts, a 14-6 record, a 2.98 ERA (earned run average), and 230 strikeouts.
This extra-special 2017 CX-9 has fewer than 5,000 miles on it, and its Signature Trim level means that it comes equipped with numerous high-end, luxurious features. The CX-9’s beautiful design led it to make both the Autotrader.com and WardsAuto list of 10 Best Interiors – as well as WardsAuto’s 10 Best Engines list and Car and Driver’s 10 Best SUVs list. This CX-9 comes equipped with an advanced SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing that offers the perfect balance of power and efficiency, boasting 250 horsepower as well as a respectable 26 mpg on the highway*.

The new year promises many things, but unfortunately it is expected that gas prices will rise in 2018. It is predicted that gas prices will rise nationally by approximately 19 cents, putting the national average at $2.57 per gallon. These figures were recently released in GasBuddy’s 2018 Fuel Price Outlook report. GasBuddy is a tech company that runs an app and website that help drivers find the cheapest gas prices in their area, as well as while traveling out on the road.
GasBuddy’s 2018 Fuel Price Outlook report also includes some other worthwhile information. For instance, it does not predict gas prices to hit any record-breaking highs. Moreover, it expects metropolitan areas to see the steepest prices nationally. Large cities such as New York City, Washington D.C., and Chicago are expected to see prices potentially rise above $3, whereas smaller cities such as Cleveland and St. Louis will likely see prices rise but still stay below $3.
You can rely on GasBuddy’s predictions, as they are usually not too far off the mark. In 2017, they predicted a national average of $2.49 per gallon, but luckily the actual national average was $2.39. We at Wantagh Mazda hope that this information helps you better budget out your fuel consumption for 2018.
The Mazda Drive for Good campaign is a yearly charitable event organized by Mazda that lets you be an active participant in giving back to your community. By simply taking a Mazda vehicle out for a test drive at a Mazda dealership this winter, you earn an hour of community service from the Mazda team for a cause in your community.
Plus, if you buy a Mazda during the Drive for Good event, Mazda will donate $150 to the charity of your choice. The Mazda Drive for Good campaign will enjoy its fifth consecutive year this winter, and over the last four years, it has led to over 260,000 hours of community service and raised more than $15 million.
Some of the most popular charities you can donate to through Mazda are St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, and the Mazda Foundation, but the full list has over 40 charities, largely focused on medical research and helping children.
Mazda Drive for Good’s partnership with NBCUniversal, which has been in effect since 2014, has let the foundation reach many more communities, even if they don’t have a large volunteer force or a nearby Mazda dealership.
At Wantagh Mazda, we’re proud to be part of an organization that is so dedicated to giving back. Give us a call to find out more about the Mazda Drive for Good campaign and our participation in it!
