Every 2021 Mazda Model Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+

New Mazda Lineup | Wantagh, NY

Every model in the 2021 Mazda lineup has earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, including the Mazda3 Sedan, Mazda3 Hatchback, Mazda6, Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-30, Mazda CX-5, and Mazda CX-9.

The Top Safety Pick+ award is the highest safety honor granted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one highly coveted by all manufacturers. Many brands do not manage to earn even the standard TSP award for all of their models, least of all the more difficult TSP+ award.

In fact, Mazda is one of only two brands to have managed this impressive feat, and the only non-luxury brand to do so. To do it, all of its models had to earn the maximum safety rating in six crashworthiness evaluations ranging from moderate overlap front crash tests to head restraint tests. In other words, Mazda vehicles not only deliver awesome performance, flexibility, and interiors on par with luxury brands, but also top-notch safety.

It doesn’t stop there. To get a TSP+ award, vehicles also needed to earn an advanced or superior rating for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash avoidance. Every single Mazda model earned the top superior rating for the former, and three out of seven also earned the top superior rating for the latter.

Finally, to earn a TSP+ award rather than just a TSP award, the Mazda lineup needed to be offered with standard headlights that provide good or acceptable visibility.

In summary, if you’re looking to shop for a premium-feeling brand that provides excellent value and style along with industry-leading safety regardless of the model you buy, take a look at the 2021 Mazda model lineup at Wantagh Mazda in Wantagh, New York. We have the 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award-winning lineup in stock and ready to lease.

Best Mazda Vehicles for Pet Owners

2019 Mazda CX-9 Interior

When you plan to drive with your dog, it pays to find a car that’s spacious, low, and provides a smooth ride. Check out these Mazda vehicles for pet owners, all of which have been applauded for being safe and comfortable for both animals and their owners.

Mazda CX-3

If your small family includes a single pup, the Mazda CX-3 might be the perfect fit. This subcompact crossover is small and easy to maneuver and park, making it ideal for urban settings.

You can also fold the back seats down to give your dog 44.5 cubic feet to stretch out in. Another bonus in this model is the standard rear-heating ducts and air conditioning, which will help keep your dog comfortable in any season.

Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 is a slightly larger crossover with five spacious seats. If you plan to travel with more than one dog, or with children as well, this is a great fit. Even with the rear seats up and the kids buckled in, there’s still 30.9 cubic feet of space for your furry friend behind the seats.

The Mazda CX-5 has low height, so it will be easy for dogs to enter and exit the vehicle. When you’re on the road, your pets will have an easier time relaxing, thanks to a smooth and quiet ride.

Mazda CX-9

With seven seats and a maximum of 72.1 cubic feet of cargo space, the Mazda CX-9 is the most spacious of the canine-friendly Mazda models. There’s plenty of room to store one or two crates, while still having room for human passengers.

This model also has many of the features that will keep dogs comfortable, like a smooth ride, tri-zone climate control, and available heated second-row seats.

Experience each of these rides for yourself when you test-drive them here at Wantagh Mazda.

Mazda CX-3 Awards and Accolades

2017 Mazda CX-3 awardsThe Mazda CX-3 awards collection has filled up in the short two years it’s been on the market. Safe, efficient, and powerful, the CX-3 is a favorite in the compact crossover market and has been recognized across the board by prestigious organizations like KBB, Car and Driver, and more.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named both the 2016 and 2017 CX-3 as a Top Safety Pick+, meaning they performed well in crash tests and earned a good rating when equipped with front collision mitigation technology. This designation isn’t awarded easily, and it proves both Mazda’s dedication to creating safe vehicles and the CX-3’s outstanding engineering.

Car and Driver has recognized the CX-3 as a top pick in the subcompact crossover segment, citing its “can-do attitude” and “taut handling with edgy styling.” New York Daily News awarded the CX-3 its City SUV award in its first ever auto awards in 2016, and the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada named it the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.

The CX-3 is one of the best, most versatile vehicles in its segment, and we’re proud to sell it at Wantagh Mazda. If you’re interested in buying a new CX-3, stop by any time!
